Placement Hoaxes

This post is dedicated to all the jobless engineers who dream to 'cut the cake' one fine day and sit in an A/c cooled office. The dream leads to 'need' and 'want' and 'desire'. But, these guys seem to have forgotten Buddha's teachings
"Desire is the root cause of misery"

Well, the misery comes in from the fact that people out there are waiting for opportunities to pounce upon. A simple fact like this can be used to churn out money if one can think spontaneously like a fox. This gives rise to scam and 'hoax'.

One such hoax was the 'Mega job fair'. The website details are given below

People who turned up at the college were disappointed not to see Infosys, Wipro and etc big shots. Alternatively, some companies like Malnad Technologies were present. Ultimately, the crowd demanded their 'registration fee of Rs 500' back and were disgusted at the treatment by the organising committee. Police had to intervene and finally Rs 300 was refunded to each student who attended the job fair.

Why only 300? Coz, apparently the organiser ran away with the money after fooling around 10,000 students.

Hope this is an eye opener for poor students who want to dream like they never dreamt before.

Topic of Brainlessness elaborated

Was reading some news on Yahoo and found this interesting piece of 'happening' news about the IPL. Like all creative money makers , Lalit Modi found an alternative to the 10 minute strategic break time per innings. Instead, it has been reduced it to 5 mins a side and the time out can be taken between 5 to 8 ovs in fielding side etc etc.. (crappy rules these are eh!)

I would normally have just closed the website but my eye caught something even more interesting, the COMMENTS:

Take a look, you may be interested too!

as ipl is cash rich tournament another policy of time has been added to it so that they can benefit from advertisement. this time out slows down the speed of the game and thus it should be opposed.

This time out is for more advert on TV. I wonder if there is any regulation in India for bombarding the viewers with adverts. Why there is no regulation about showing advers on tv . It is a great pleasure when you are watch cricket abroad, sometime adverts pop up in 30 minuts or so. See our news or any tv programme its the programme we watch or the advert. Its looks very ugly when same advert repeated 7 times in 1 minutes. That is why nobody supports hockey or football, no free time for adverts. These people only care about money and nothing to do with sports.I hope our Tv has a dooms day very soon.

Only one guy hit the jackpot relating to the topic. (Pankaj8k)
All the others seemed to just comment for the sake of commenting!!
One guy wanted to share his views about what Thakeray uncle said yesterday regarding Bharat Ratna and Sachin Tendulkar. But, someone please remind this guy that - he just posted the comment in the wrong place. Whoever declared that Sachin was going to get a Bharat Ratna. Does he even know that the Prime minister can be reached by ordinary post by just writing the address as "Prime Minister's office, New Delhi-1". Like sure, Sachin didn't help the common man! who helped the common man, Nobody!!

1410 & the brainless Youth brigade

Got to know last week that the number of tigers in India reduced by one and the new magic number is 1410, courtesy : http://churumuri.wordpress.com
Briefly about churumuri (alias bhel puri, a local delicacy): A hot and happening blog, churumuri as the name suggests has all the spice to attract readers especially those from Bangalore / Mysore and in my opinion, the author has found exceptional joy in creating humour from daily routine news.

Anyway, not long before I could recuperate from the figure 1410, I happened to see something annoying, again on that "idiot box"
It was on some zee news channel and the host gathered a bunch of IT honchos to give their opinion about the budget launched on 26th Feb '10.

When asked about the reactions on the budget and whom it suits, a brainless buffalo looking chipmonk guy replied - "Man, I should have been a farmer. Atleast, I would get subsidies and all my loans would have been cleared due to Chidambaram's 60,000 crore farmer-loan-forget blockbuster budget.

Wat the hell was this, does this guy even know the meaning of being a farmer, who in India is the least paid labourer of all classes. A farmer who spends for 100 litres of water for growing a single kilo of rice, a farmer who is just paid Rs 100 per day under the hot sun as compared to some tech guy who earns in thousands sitting in an office enjoying air conditioned air.

The more I got glued to the remote, the more I got angry, now it was the turn of some gal to say something:

So, after this guy, a sissy, nasty looking toothless pea-hen nose watering chick replied " Petrol is so costly, I mean I should open one Petrol bunk and earn more".
To this, I must applaud the thinking and say this "Ya, chick. Go ahead, let's see who will allot you a Petrol bunk!!!"

And before I could change the channel, I heard one more ox-faced, peach flavored testes carrying brainless broncho saying this - " I heard, some funds are to be allocated to Goa for beautifying the beach, I feel, I should open up some hotel and make money in Goa instead of wasting my time in this industry"

I think, this guy doesn't know what is going on in Goa right now. To remind him - One rape and a few atrocities on foreigners has brought down the number of visitors to Goa drastically. The Government has to make the beach world class, just like the beach shown in "Baywatch" (channel-Star world) with mighty lifeguards and beach patrol protecting the interest of the citizens.

Wonder, what's wrong with today's youth brigade. Like they say in hindi - Sar mein bhusa bhara hua hai. The Bronchosaurus (a dinasaur) had a brain the size of a walnut. But, I have discovered some brainless bronchos, right here in India.

Let the chaos prevail!!

1411

So, what is 1411?

The latest ads on tv would have bugged you with this figure. With the jobless Baichung Bhutia vouching for a cause, a cause which his community could never understand. A cause which is worrying the nation at large. A cause which is worth dying for!!
To save the tiger

Although, statistically 1411 tigers roam in the jungles of India, nobody would like to know the true figure as it disturbs us. The true number is far more alarming and I just hope it is atleast a 3 digit number. But, some people just want to make money out of this fact, this time its Aircel.

The trend is not new, people always make money knowing some facts. The bald truth is that Aircel just wants to increase its popularity and side by side make money! I mean who would leave such a chance; tigers have always been fascinating the human kind and any enthusiast would jump into the movement, get in touch with aircel, have a chance to feel their products, get ads posted all over : "Save the tiger campaign - sponsored by Aircel"

Right now, nobody will believe me; but that's not the point. The proof will anyway be unfolded during the annual results when the sales figures would give indications of a steep rise.

I believe, blogs & campaigns are just not enough to save the tiger. Simply because, we can't expect a tiger to read blogs and replicate "Save me"

The problem has a solution but nobody has even gone close to it. The solution cannot be political interference, it has to be judicial. You and me are too smart to understand the judicial system here, it sucks!!

Individuals and I repeat only individuals can make a difference, not companies. Somebody has to understand the depth of the problem and then try to solve it with the existing support (which is negligible). No amount of blogging can replace this exercise.

Until such a man arises, I can safely post a challenge, "There won't be jungles by 2030 and if there are jungles, there won't be a single tiger in them"

Of course, I wont like it, I won't be able to answer my first love, Reeta who now resides behind a cage in Chamarajendra zoo, Mysore. But, I will give an idea to poachers about a tiger who is hidden in human skin, so that he can be hunted for the precious bones inside and sold for a booty.

Presenting, the big bad booty daddy!!

Black day for Indian cricket

Yesterday (27.12.09) will have to be labelled as a Black day for Indian cricket, as claimed by reputed newspapers, news channels etc, in other words the Media. This time the dig on media continues because the way they projected this was really humorous.

Well, the exact reason was that one odd ball from an Indian pace bowler bounced way above usual height and the pitch was deemed to be useless and declared as unfit for play due to non preparation adequately.

This happened at the time when Indian's were removing the shit out of the Lankan's who were reeling at 83 for the loss of 5 wickets. One of the wicket included a really spectacular one handed throw at the stumps to get rid of a Lankan without the aid of the replay.

Suddenly, the spectators were bedazzled when players left the field after discussion by the umpires and then began this funny conversation between a news correspondent and an expert Saba Karim (former Indian player)

Correspondent (C): Saba ji, aapka swagat hai, yeh bataiye ki hua kya hai, aakhir kyon match ko radh kar diya gaya hai

Saba (S): Well aaa, match ke shuru mein yeh andaaza nahi laga paye the ki pitch mein kitna uchal hai, aurrrrra captains ko bhi iski ummeed nahi thi.

C: Toh is baat ke liye kise doshi maana jaye, BCCI (Board of Cricket control India) ya phir DDCA (Delhi district cricket association)

S: Dekhiye, ye toh kehna muskil hoga, BCCI ki alag committeee banayi gayi hai jo sirf pitch ko dekhti hai aur pass ya fail karti hai. etc etc fart fart...........
Par yeh kehna muskil hai ki dosh kiska hai

Not satisfied , the correspondent frames the question differently

C: DDCA pitch tayyar karne ke zimmedar hain, kya inhe doshi theraya jasakta hai

S: Dekhiye, DDCA ne apni taraf se pitch tayyar ki hai par BCCI ke jo adhikari hain jinhe "pitch committee" kaha jaata hai, unki zimmedari hoti hai ke pitch ka jayasa le aur sahi report pesh karen.

At this point, S is not aware of C's intentions to find the culprit and blame him solely. S is merrily being the expert and offering grey solutions to the problem. C is now wild at this point of time and will try once before giving up.

C: Kya action lena chaiye aapke anusar?

S: Dekhiye, abhi toh yeh kehna mushkil hai, aaaa, mere khayal se BCCI ko apni committee par dhyann dena chaiye aur system checks rakhne chaiye ke aisi galti phir na ho. Unko apna system fit karna padega. Jahan tak DDCA ka sawal hai, toh unko bhi khel ke niyamon ke anusar apna kaam karna padegaa.......blah, blah, fart...etc.

Now, I got really pissed and switched off the Television to look for better avenues like walking on a half moonlit street and enjoying the winter!!
Just chill, chill just chillllllllllllllll...........

Rejuvenation

Had a blast last week and watched "Avatar" at our very own multiplex in Gandhidham. But before that, had a nice massage and heartache while travelling from Mundra to Gandhidham. The experience was like never before, a raging bus carrying 20 passengers, one driver, one conductor, 6 tyres, one engine, one rear axle, one front axle, 50 ltrs of diesel in a shoddy container, around 1000 nuts and bolts, sheet metal moulded for seats and a grill which prevents passengers from reaching the driver.
Hell, wonder if the grill would not have been there, nobody would have spared the driver for the bumpy roller coaster ride.
Eventually, curses galore just could not prevent the experience. An amazing two hour ride for just Rs 30/-, wonderful isnt it?
Coming to avatar, I wish it would have been a true story, it is true in a sense but non nature lovers would make no sense of it. May be, James Cameroon should have included scenes from the cartoon "Captain planet" or the movie "the Matrix" to incorporate the dangers of losing precious natural resources. But, a commendable effort by him. Not everyone will be impressed by the movie but sooner or later, the theme of this movie will inevitably be the future.

The timing is just right, hope the swines negotiating a 'Climate change protocol' in Copenhagen watch this movie to justify how they want our future to be.
Folks, unfortunately, our future lies in their hands. Especially somebody like me from a developing country. So, this famous dialogue from the Matrix holds false for me:

Morpheus: "Tell me Neo, do you believe in fate"

Neo: "No, I dont, I am not comfortable with the idea that someone is controlling us"

Morpheus: "I know exactly what you mean"

Hail Copenhagen. Sayonara.

Scooby Doo, Where are you????

Scooby dooby dooooo was the instant reply to the question. Wish I could tell the same. Its been almost 2 months since the last blog post and suddenly, I am out of ideas regarding the subject.

No TV, no newspaper, nothing to speak about. This post is turning out to be such a rude one that people who read it will never visit this website again. But, have to take such risks and the mission should be accomplished.

So, started with reading other's blogs. Two of my favorites, one by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and the other by my IIT friend Amrit vatsa. Surprisingly, an avid blogger like Vatsa posted his last story after a 15 day interval. I dont see any blog updates by others too. May be, occassional writing is the mantra. But, occassional, not such a long interval.

Surely, will be back with more once I settle down (the one after marriage). Till then, as Sharukh said (Movie: Om shanti Om)

"Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost"
